A small, dingy mezzanine studio in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska, was once home to a DIY arts and music venue, dubbed 'The Mez.'
Over the course of nine months, The Mez hosted concerts, plays, monthly First Friday art exhibits, an international film screening and a weekly writers circle. These events wouldn't have realized without community support, including those who helped renovate the space, artists who shared themselves and their work and the many people who showed up, eager to give their attention to what was presented.
In late September 2017, The Mez closed its doors after its co-founders' decided to finish school and pursue personal projects. The existence of this space and the memories it created for local artists, musicians and misfits, will never be forgotten.
